Your build checklist: not sure yet
That's a fine place to start. Most people arrive with a headache, not a spec.
What we'd usually build
Nothing yet. First we find the job that eats your week. On the call, or by email, we ask three things: what you sell, who does the work, and what's slow. Then we sort it into one of four shapes: a website, an online store, an automation, or a custom tool. Most businesses need one of them first, not all four.
When a ready-made app does the job (and we'll say so)
Sometimes the honest answer is "don't build anything." An app that costs a few dollars a month, a setting you haven't turned on, or a step you can stop doing. We say that out loud before you spend anything. Most ideas shouldn't be built, and telling you which is part of the job.
Three questions to answer before anyone builds
- What did you do this week that you'd pay to never do again?
- Where do things get lost: between a message and an order, an order and a delivery, a delivery and getting paid?
- If one thing ran itself by Friday, what would you do with the hours?
What it looks like to work with us
A 30-minute call, or a few lines by email. Then a project assessment: what to build, what to buy, what to skip. Then a written proposal with the scope, one fixed price and the schedule, before any work starts. We build it, show you as it takes shape, and hand over your code and your accounts. The assessment is yours whether or not you hire us.
One thing we can show you
Will at Barista Plus Coffee needed somewhere to sell his coffee. It became a store with 12 coffees, subscriptions, wholesale enquiries and two languages.
